Come on a community bicycle ride to the far southwest corner of the city to celebrate the opening of Santa Fe’s newest regional park, the SWAN Park.
This will be the first Community Cruise to travel across the entire city – almost all downhill and almost all on paved, multi-use trails!
We will meet at the bike rack outside of the Railyard Park’s Community Room (near Site Santa Fe) at 10 am and then travel down the Acequia Trail, the Rail Trail, the Arroyo Chamiso Trail, and Tierra Contenta’s Arroyo Chamiso Trail to the new park. Cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us as we pass by Second Street Brewery (original location) by 10:30 and the Genoveva Chavez Community Center by 10:45 – or wherever else you can find us along the way!
Thanks to Ecomotive Bike Shop, we can offer transportation back uphill toward the center of town for those who are interested – let me know if you are interested in that option. And if you need a bike, Ecomotive offers rentals, electric or standard, at the Railyard Depot, conveniently close to our starting point! They’re open at 9 am on Saturdays, so stop by or give them a call at 795-3782.
We will arrive for the start of the City’s big celebration, which will last from 11 am until 4 pm. More information on that event is available at http://www.santafenm.gov/events/detail/swan_park_grand_opening_event.
