In conjunction with Outside Bike and Brew, join this slow and easy bicycle ride through
time and space. We will focus on historic transportation alignments from the 20th Century, including the original “Mother Road” (pre-1937 Route 66) and the historic rail lines that began to disappear with its arrival, including the New Mexico Central Railroad, the Chili Line, and the not-so-active line to Lamy. Of course we would be remiss to leave out Santa Fe’s three official National Historic Trails (El Camino Real, Old Spanish Trail, Santa Fe Trail) which date to previous centuries.
Given the importance of all of these alignments to local trail planning, this tour is also being offered as a “Study Ride” for GUSTO , the community-based planning effort to create a “Grand Unified Trail System.”
